
Fermoy U12s Awarded Father Gavin Trophy

In an exciting display of skill and determination, Fermoy U12 rugby team made a lasting impression at the annual Willow Park Festival, in Dublin on Saturday 22 March. The young athletes played a total of six matches against some of the best school rugby teams in the country, showcasing their prowess on the pitch and demonstrating exceptional teamwork, skills, and sportsmanship.
The team's efforts were further boosted by the presence of Mike Ross, former Ireland international and Fermoy RFC rugby player, who came to cheer them on with his son Kevin. Ross's encouragement and support undoubtedly inspired the team to give their all and push themselves to excel.
In recognition of their outstanding performance, teamwork, and exemplary behaviour, Fermoy U12 rugby team was awarded the coveted Father Gavin Trophy. This prestigious trophy was presented to the team out of over 50 participating teams, a testament to their remarkable achievement.
Throughout the day, the Fermoy team demonstrated remarkable camaraderie, skills, and dedication. Their hard work and commitment to the sport paid off as they enjoyed a successful tournament, making their families, coaches, and supporters proud.
The Willow Park Festival was superbly organised and a huge thank you to Matt Dalton, and all the staff, coaches and parents, for making it a great day.
