Our seconds took on Kanturk in their opening league game of the season at home on Saturday night, the visitors raced into 19 point lead crossing over three times converting two.  At this point it looked like the visitors would put up a cricket score.  Fermoy were a different side in the second half and ran in four tries from Justin Williams, Saulius Comber and Quinten Joyce x 2.  Now trailing by three points the visitors pushed late on for the winning score.  A lost Fermoy scrum inside our own half was the fatal blow, Kanturk went through the phases and attacked the Fermoy line, it looked like the ball was held up but the visitors shipped it wide to score in the corner and take the win 22-24.  There was a great mix of youth and experience out for Fermoy, with ages ranging from 18 to late 40’s.  Well done lads for staying in the game, a better start could have seen a different result.
