Great Start to Pre-Season Training

Men’s Rugby

Preseason training is up and running for our Adults and U18.5’s under new head coach Cillian Bohane. The sessions have been very enjoyable with a good mixture of ball work, drills and fitness.  Great numbers were in attendance for our first week back. If you are interested in playing this season we train every Tuesday and Thursday night at the show grounds in Fermoy at 7.30pm. All are welcome.

We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome new head coach Cillian Bohane to Fermoy RFC.  

Cillian has a distinguished playing and coaching career where as a player he represented both Munster and Ireland at U18 and as an adult played for UCC and Highfield RFC at senior level. 

As a coach he has coached Highfield under 20s, Mitchelstown RFC 1st team, and is currently coaching with the Munster development squad. Cillian says he has really enjoyed his first week of preseason training as a coach with Fermoy RFC and is very excited to be working with a very talented squad of players for the year ahead. We at Fermoy RFC are also very excited to have Cillian join our club and look forward to working with him and hopefully enjoying a successful season with him in the coming year. 

Youth and Mini Rugby

We will once again this year have a full accomplishment of youth and mini rugby teams competing this year in Fermoy. These teams will be commencing training in the next number of weeks in advance of the upcoming season and all children of all talents and abilities and of all shapes and sizes are welcome. Commencement date for training are yet to be finalised for our youth and mini teams. For players interested in joining a team, the training dates will be posted here once finalised. 

Coaches

With Fermoy rugby club having a large number of teams of all grades taking the field every year we always are welcoming to new personal and coaches coming on board. If you think that you would like to join the coaching and organisational team at Fermoy RFC and give something back to your community and your local rugby club we would love to hear from you. New Committee

Our new Committee under the stewardship of our clubs new president Paddy Aherne, had its first meeting on the 22nd of June. This writer would like to wish the new committee and Paddy Aherne the best of luck over the coming year and would also like to thank the outgoing committee and its brilliant, hardworking outgoing president, Barry Richards for the great work he and his committee did for the club over the last 12 months.
